Caring for Country

We deeply value the support of every guest. It’s what helps us tread lightly and care for our Country. You’re not only experiencing a beautiful place when you visit, you’re also helping us to continue to protect it for the next generation.

Minimal Visitor Impact

To protect the environment, we limit the number of visitors on our Dreamtime Gorge Walks to 130 people per day and educate them about how they can minimise their impact on the fragile World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest by not straying from the designated walking tracks or paths.

Eco Certification

Our founder, Elder Roy Gibson, had a vision of the Centre becoming a place where both Indigenous culture and the unique natural ecosystem of the gorge could be enjoyed and explored by visitors.

Fast forward a decade or so, Mossman Gorge has been Ecotourism Certified for the last 10 years and is also a Green Travel Leader. This is a mark of excellence in sustainability, and demonstrates the Centre's commitment to environmental protection.
